Bush's new budget

I came across this news about the new budget plan Bush submitted to the Congress. At first, I thought I read the numbers wrong:

Bush's $2.7-trillion budget pushes defence!!

$2.7 trillion? and again it's mainly going onto defence? Doesnt he realize that the US is having an estimated deficit of $423 billion?

Well, if he's gonna spend money anyway, cant he find some better way to do so? Cant him just allocate more budget on finding alternative energy sources, better health care for the public, lower pollution nationwide, and stuff like that? At least in these ways, the money will be used to SAVE ppl, not to kill more ppl by starting wars!

PS. This is just my opinion towards Bush's new budget plan. I am not against Americans!
