The next Ethernet standard

Well, for those who notice, the Ethernet transmissions that companies have are usually running at 1 Gbps (Gigabit per sec) now, which, compared to the 54Mbps that you get from using Wireless G routers, that's an amazing speed.

But hey, here is a heads up: 10 Gbps over regular copper wire will be coming out real soon Link. Just imagine you can transfer huge files like movies in seconds between computers. Nice eh?

And, on the side note, just in case you think 10 Gbps is not that amazing, Lucent just demo 100 Gbps Ethernet transmission Link, although it's not over just regular copper wire, which the new office buildings equip with. Just as an example, a DVD can store 9 GB of data, using the 100Gbps network, in one second, you can transfer 100/(9*8) = 1.39 DVD data between computers in 1 second theoretically.

Freaky...

haha, I love fast Internet transmissions. I am so sick the slow Internet speed in Bates
