Ottawa Trip
It was a relaxing, and also tiring trip to ottawa.
It was relaxing since i dont have to bring my laptop to Ottawa with me! Woohoo! So, I managed to have time to meet an old friend in Ottawa, and really relaxed my mind over the wkend.
The tiring thing: the driving. It's a long drive. Plus, we were already tired from the long convocation. And it's pretty late when we arrive in TO too. I ended up not having a lot of sleep in Ottawa. hahaha. (I planned to sleep for like at least 12 hrs a day)...
I like Ottawa. It's not as boring as Hamilton, and it's easier to find good food too! (haha, that's how I judge a city now, good food=good city). And maybe cuz I've been in TO for so long, there no exciting new food (at least I havent discovered any recently). So, Ottawa to me is like a heaven for the wkend.
But one thing I forgot to do this time i am in Ottawa: I forgot to eat Beaver Tail!! Damn! That's like my favorite thing in Ottawa! How can I forgot at all?!
Oh well, i am already back. So no use to regret. Now let's talk about the convocation. This is one of the most boring convocation I've ever attended. I dont say it just to offend it, I say it just becuz it's REALLY boring. The story goes like this:
In a convocation, it's common to have honory degree being confirmed to some out-standing individuals. And to no exception, there are two honory doctoral being offered by UO in this convocation. One of the receipient didnt show up. And the other person is an old person, who came by a wheelchair.
So, when the degree is confirmed, that person will give a speech, normally for 15-30 mins. But since we are in Ottawa, the speech will have to be in French, and English. And since he's an old person, and of cuz, old person LOVE to talk, and they talk SLOWLY! So he ended up speaking for over an hour for his speech. During this time, when I looked around, I can say about 80% of the audience were sleeping! Man, that's some convocation!
Now that I am back. I got to pick up my pace and get back to work....Man. I hate EM...
